Madonna Michael Jackson Tribute (Video)

July 6, 2009

Here is the Madonna Michael Jackson Tribute video. See the video and photos of the tribute Queen of Pop Madonna paid to the late King of Pop at London O2 Arena on July 4, 2009.

The special Madonna Michael Jackson tribute took place at the very same place where the music legend was to have begun his This Is It 50-concert residency on July 13, 2009. It is the same date that Madonna kicked off the European leg of her highly successful Sticky & Sweet World Tour in support of her most recent internationally chart topping album, Hard Candy.

The Madonna Michael Jackson tribute video reveals an impersonator of the King of Pop performing his classic dance moves to Wanna Be Starting Something; this took place in the midst of the performance of Madonna’s signature hit Holiday.

In the Madonna Michael Jackson Tribute video the Queen of Pop tells the audience emphatically, to cheering and applause: “Let’s give it up for one of the greatest artists the world has ever known.”

According to MTV UK, during the concluding performance of Give It 2 Me, Madonna and her dancers each wore a single jeweled glove in tribute to the King of Pop, as lyrics from his signature hit Man In the Mirror were shown on the large screens.

A longtime friend of the King of Pop, (famously attending the 1991 Academy Awards with him) Madonna issued a statement upon hearing of his untimely death on June 25, 2009.

“I can’t stop crying over the sad news. I have always admired Michael Jackson. The world has lost one of the greats, but his music will live on forever! My heart goes out to his three children and other members of his family. God bless.”
