It should come as no surprise that A&E’s The Beast is canceled. After just one season, Patrick Swayze is throwing in the towel on the police drama that was to stem his career comeback. Read more and see photos and video here.
Patrick Swayze brought his acting chops to the small screen last year when he starred in the police drama “The Beast”, which aired on A&E. The series premiered in January and starred Swayze as a rogue cop in Chicago.
The series was not a ratings hit, despite the average audience of over a million viewers per episode. What made the series impressive was not only Swayze’s acting abilities, but the fact that throughout the season’s 13-episode production, Swayze was fighting pancreatic cancer.
Swayze and his wife Lisa Niemi are planning a memoir to be released this fall. The book is said to detail Swayze’s life as a child, his career, his marriage with Niemi and his public fight against cancer.
The Beast may have been canceled, but Swayze’s fight against the beastly pancreatic cancer continues.
