The global superstar, viral video hit and singing sensation from Scotland, Susan Boyle, who thrilled the world with her BGT audition and the semi-final performance of Memory from Cats may be favored to win, but nonetheless she has several noteworthy competitors. Due to the intense pressure the singer has been under, concerns for her safety have arisen. However, to the show’s producers and the singer herself assure us she will perform.

The 10-year-old singer, Hollie Steel was overcome with nerves in her semi-final performance and cried, but at Simon Cowell’s insistence, he young performer had a second chance, and she delivered a remarkable comeback performance and judges voted her into the finals.

Shaheen Jafargholi semi-final performance made him a strong contender, among the singers.
The saxophonist, Julian Smith, has also been a standout. The two dance troupes and the solo dancer, Aidan Davis have drawn notice. It all comes to a grand final on May 30, 2009 as the BGT winner will perform for the Queen at the Royal Variety Show and receive a cash prize of £100,000.
