Meet the controversial Carrie Prejean, Miss California USA who got a difficult question from gay celebrity blogger Perez Hilton during the Miss USA beauty pageant. See the controversial video and tell us what you think. Miss California finished as the first runner-up to the eventual winner.

Perez Hilton: “Vermont recently became the 4th state to legalize same-sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suit. Why or why not?”
Prejean: “Well I think its great that Americans are able to choose one or the other. We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage. And you know what, in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that’s how I was raised and that’s how I think it should be between a man and a woman. Thank you very much.”
Perez apparently upset the pageant people with his non-poof question, enough to cause a backstage blowup, and the celebutant writer is quite upset about the answer, enough to call Miss California USA a “dumb bitch.” Our guess is he will not be invited back next year as a judge.
Some bloggers are heaping a healthy dose of scorn upon poor Carrie.
I personally do not find the answer all that bad. Sure, you cannot “choose” it in most states and she mixed up country and state. The last thing you want in a frivolous beauty pageant is to field a radioactive question. It is prone to get political cheers and boos from the audience which is not what you want to see in an evening gown, high heels and lipstick. Did I mention that Carrie Prejean in a swimsuit is pretty cute?
As a biography she is only 21 years old while attending San Diego Christian College where she is studying to become a special education teacher for kids. Carrie is a member of the vaunted San Diego Padres “Pad Squad” chicks, and was Miss Greater San Diego in 2007. She was anointed “Super Taste” model of the month for Bliss Magazine.
Ms. Prejean is a model by trade of women’s shoes, jewelry and candies up fashion magazines as a cover-girl. She was a finalist for a job with Deal or No Deal as a box turning model of fame and glory.

My hat is off to her. It takes more guts for someone to give their opinion on an issue when opposed to it rather than agreeing with it especially when it causes such upset. Land of free speech? Yes. She has spoken freely and now she is bashed by the gay community for simply stating her opinion. Herein lies the great unspoken issue within the homosexual activists: Anyone who is against homosexual marriage is intolerant. Seems to me as if the shoe is on the other foot this time. Any homosexual who thinks everyone on this planet should be for gay marriage is intolerant.
Nuff said.

Talk a about a dumb jerk, who gave made this guy a judge. He’s got an agenda and it’s not fair that he influenced the outcome of the contest. I thought Carrie answered honestly and stuck to her beliefs. She is a winner in my book.

Yeah, OK, that’s nice and all that she “gave her opinion” and all, but for all we know she could have said that she was a racist Neo-Nazi who denies the Holocaust. Does that still make her answer acceptable?

Talk about intolerance! Hilton called her a dumb B!itch because she had her own opinion. If he didn’t like the answer, he shouldn’t have asked that question; it was completly inappropriate in that type of setting. No matter how she would’ve answered, she would have been blasted by one group or another. She is as entitled to her opinion as he is. Also, she was asked the question.. not like she was out protesting gay rights with a picket sign.

It is incredible that this “controversy” has gotten so much play! The true “villain” in all this is Perez Hilton. He is the one who chose to ask a polarizing question in a situation where it was contextually out of place. Now a young lady is being demonized for sharing her beliefs honestly. She DID say she thinks it is great that we live in a society where you have a choice (maybe incorrect - but definitely tollerant), she just believes for herself that gay marriage is not right. The truely intollerant people in our society today are the Liberals. She is being demonized by liberals simply for having an opinion that disagrees with them.

Perez Hilton is an IDIOT. Its a shame that he was invited to judge…he cant be. He was so biased and took the opportunity to advance his personal interest being gay. His conduct was shameful..shows low class.
I sallute Carrie for her courage and honesty. Good job.
