The Puerto Rican drag queen Nina Flowers was one of the finalists on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ on the program’s season finale, which aired on March 23, 2009. He competed against Rebecca Glasscock of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Bebe Zahara Benet from Cameroon who won the competition which has a $20,000 cash prize and endorsement deals with Absolut Vodka and other sponsors.
The program aired on the cable network Logo (which presents lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender programming) and is a reality TV competition which bears similarity to America’s Next Top Model and Project Runway. The series will be rerun on VH1. RuPaul is a famed African American drag queen who first rose to prominence in the 1990s with the club hit “Supermodel” and a VH1 talk show.

As a biography, Nina Flowers was born in Puerto Rico and now lives in Denver, Colorado. His real name is Jorge Flores and he is known professionally as Nina Flowers, and as such, he is a make up artist, entertainer, DJ and producer. He has been performing professionally for fifteen years; he got his start as a drag performer while going to school to become a professional makeup artist.
As an entertainer, he is quite distinctive, with a muscular physique, tattoos and an edgy style that evokes Annie Lennox, Boy George, Duran Duran and RuPaul.
Long before being known as Nina Flowers, RuPaul Drag Race finalist, the drag queen had developed a following via his live performances and numerous YouTube videos. His favorite kind of music is house music, tropical beats. He has been quoted as saying he doesn’t “even consider myself a female impersonator.”
