Meet Elizabeth Perkins, the feisty and hysterical Celia Hodes on Showtime’s hit series “Weeds”. See her biography, photos and video here.
Elizabeth Perkins will appear on “Celebrity Jeopardy” tonight. She will take on “Dancing with the Stars”‘ Tom Bergeron and “Ghost Whisperer”‘s Aisha Tyler. The winner will earn $50,000 to be donated to the charity of their choice. Elizabeth is playing for the New England Learning Center for Women in Transition.
As a biography, Elizabeth Perkins was born on November 18, 1960, in Queens, New York, so her age is 48. Her measurements are 5’8″. She grew up in Vermont and later attended DePaul University’s Goodman School of Drama.
She has appeared in several plays, including productions on Broadway. Since then, Elizabeth has appeared in several feature films, the most well known of which may be “Big”, co-starring Tom Hanks. But her latest role might prove to be her most popular; she now stars as Celia on the Showtime series “Weeds” alongside Mary Louise Parker. Her sarcastic character is often the highlight of the week’s episode. She has even received two Emmy and two Golden Globe nominations for Best Supporting Actress for the role.
Elizabeth commented on the use of the marijuana on the television show, saying that the fake weed on the show is,
“a combination of herbs that don’t get you stoned . . . If we smoked real weed, we wouldn’t get anything done over here.”
Elizabeth is married to Julio Macat. This is her second marriage, having previously wed actor Terry Kinney. She has one daughter and three step-sons.
