Variously known as Megan Corkery, the Utah single mother has received accolades from all of the judges both in her Utah audition and in her Top 36 performance.

For her Top 36 round 2 performance, she sang ‘Put Your Records On’ by Corinne Bailey Rae, a single from the British singer’s breakthrough self-titled album. Corkery delivered a vocally uneven, yet still credible and pleasing performance. Judge Kara DioGuardi characterized her as a “package artist” who is “pretty and “unique” and with the right song, could become a “breakout artist.”

The full list of the Idol Top 36 group 2 against which Megan Corkery is competing is as follows: Adam Lambert, Matt Giraud, Jeanine Vaile, Nick Mitchell, Allison Iraheta, Kris Allen, Matt Brietzke, Jesse Langseth, Kai Kalama, Mishavonna Henson and Jasmine Murray.

As a biography, Megan Joy Corkery was born in August 5, 1985 in Sandy, Utah. Her age is 23. She has blond hair and brown eyes and a large artistic tattoo that covers most of her upper right arm.

Megan Corkery is a recently divorced single mother with a son named Ryder. She auditioned for American Idol in Salt Lake City, Utah, with the song ‘Can’t Help Lovin Dat Man,’ the bluesy song by Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II from the classic musical ‘Show Boat.’

She is annoying and her dancing drives me crazy. I thought this was a singing competition? She can’t carry a tune in a bag. Very very sad.. what’s going on Simon??

She is definitely unique and interesting to watch. Not sure if any of her performances to date were quite as good as her audition, but it’s still early.

    Omg, I love her.
She’s what we need for the show. :’D

I love all the songs she’s chosen to preform. Put em on my iPod.

Hahah, I love her audition, and when the golden ticket flew out of her hand “I need that!”
    lol

I wish her the best of luck with American Idol! Hope she keeps making it.

Paula, you have got to put me in touch with this grl. I am so intrigued by her I am at a loss for words. The passion she shows and the love that is apparent for her son blows my mind, her style and looks are rare. She is different but beautiful in her own way it is so refreshing. Let me tell you a little about myself, I am a 26 yr old Air Force C-17 pilot, when I saw her tonight I actually, for the first time, thought that’s exactly the kind of girl a man needs (independent but hard working and goal driven). She is SOOOOOO unique I had to try to get ahold of her. Do your best, Will!

Hate to see Megan Joy go-I am not going to be watching American Idol any more this season. Simon was totally disrespectable and out of line. I think I can find something better to watch. I totally enjoyed Megans performance’s and would have paid to see her perform. Hope she goes far in the music industry.

    THANK GOD SHES IS GONE!!!!!!
I won’t have to FF through her horrific songs anymore. So many more talented people on the show now we can focus on real talent.

she is different and lovely, but she’s not setting the bar for herself. she can’t even seem to reveal some freshness in her voice, making it boring every week. no element of surprise as an artist. She has a wonderful voice and is beautiful woman though.
