Melissa Mandak was crowned Miss Connecticut USA in 2005. As such, she represented her state in the Miss USA 2005 pageant which in turn sends the country’s winner to the Miss Universe pageant. She is in the news today because she has just begun her new job with WNYW Fox 5 Good Day New York as a traffic reporter. With her Rutgers University journalism degree and her on camera charisma she is well suited for the new job and is becoming popular among viewers.

As a biography, Melissa Mandak was born in 1982 in Hamden, Connecticut. Her age is 26. Her measurements are 5’10,” and she has blond hair and brown eyes. She is the younger of two siblings. As a child, she took dance lessons. She studied journalism at Rutgers University.

Upon graduating, she became a real estate agent, with aspirations of becoming an entrepreneur, a successful media professional and purchasing investment properties and studying meteorology at the graduate school level.

Her childhood training in dance helped her achieve success in the Miss Connecticut USA pageant. As do many pageant participants, she took a contemporary view of the role of pageants in helping women to achieve higher goals and professional aspirations.

In recent years she has been a D.J. for the Connecticut Internet radio station UltraRadio.com. Prior to doing traffic reports for WNYW Fox 5 Good Day New York she was traffic reporter for Metro Networks in Hartford, CT.
