Can it be true this time? We have heard so many rumors about George Clooney returning to ER. However, this time sources confirm that as ER is filming its 15th and final season, the actor will be filming scenes for his ER appearance.

Starring as Dr. Doug Ross on the program, which premiered in 1994, launched Clooney’s career. He made his last appearance on the program, uncredited in 2000. There are rumors, but no confirmation that Juliana Margulies, who portrayed Clooney’s significant other on the program will also return.

In denying rumors last season of his possible return to ER, George Clooney reflected upon what he viewed as unexpected success and fame.

“I was 33 when ER hit, so I have a very different outlook on the way things work,? he says. “I don’t think I was supposed to have been famous. I realize how much of this is luck.?

Indeed as events have unfolded and Clooney’s career has taken off, it’s difficult to imagine that it all began with a network TV series that became a hit in the 1990s. It’s not a given that a TV star becomes a movie star, not even when he is part of an extended show biz family whose members include his father, the broadcaster and journalist, Nick Clooney and his aunt, the singer Rosemary Clooney.

The man that People Magazine named “Sexiest Man Alive” twice (in 1997 and 2006) most recently appearance on the big screen in ‘Leatherheads’ (which he also directed, produced and co-wrote) and Joel and Ethan Coen’s ‘Burn After Reading.’ He also stars in the forthcoming movie ‘Men Who Stare at Goats’ based on the nonfiction book by the same title. And, of course, he will be visiting us again on the small screen in April.
