Meet Keri Shryock, the performer who fell tragically in a Christmas show at Crossroads Community Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. See her photos, biography and video report here. Her name has been repeatedly misspelled in the media as “Keri Shyrock.”
Our hearts go out to her family, friends and church community. During a modern reenactment of the nativity scene, Ms. Shyrock fell 20 feet from a cable that was suspended high over the stage. She was rushed after the church fall to University Hospital where she expired the next morning on December 18th.
The show itself called “Awaited: A Christmas Show” used dance, rhythmic movement and a large chorus. All remaining shows at the Crossroads Community Church have been canceled and a prayer service is scheduled for tonight at 7pm. This is such a terrible thing to happen during Christmas. You can click through to her Facebook page from that last link and learn more about Keri here.
As a biography, Keri Shryock was a 23-year-old graduate student who graduated from Bowling Green University in 2008. At Northview High School she played softball. Keri resided in Sylvania, Ohio. While attending college she worked at the Office of Commuter Services and Off Campus Living.

This is a horrible horrible article. Not only it terribly insensitive at such a time, but you misspelled her name. It is Shryock, and furthermore, she was a grad student at Xavier, and received her undergraduate degree from BGSU.

Shryock is the correct spelling of Keri’s last name. I grew up with her father and the family is Shryock.
We are all in shock and grieving for her parents/family at this time. May God comfort them.

Keri and I were close friends in high school and she and I would often joke about her last name because she hated it when people said or spelled it “Shyrock.” Her name is Keri Shryock. YOU mispelled it. And she was an angel on earth.

There is a lot of misinformation in this article. Keri did not graduate from Xavier. If anything she just completed her first semester of grad school there. Keri graduated in May from BGSU. Last I heard, she is not an aspiring actress. Please respect Keri, her family, and friends and correct your article.

Her name is Keri Shryock. She had a beautiful smile and is one of the kindest people I have ever known. Truly, an angel on earth. I suggest you get your facts straight instead of copying and pasting whatever misinformation falls in your lap. The fact that she was in a performance does not mean she was an “aspiring actress”. She was an amazing human being and that is how she will be remembered.
Please correct your extremely insensitive mistakes.

Our prayers goes out to the Shryock Family in the lost of their love one.
For you we are praying.

I read this in the L.A. Times and went online to get more info. This was a sad story, RIP.
And yes, they spelled the name as “Shryock” too.
