Troubled Hollywood star Lindsay Lohan is on the cover of the latest Harper’s Bazaar, and opens up about love, family, and career in a revealing interview. The interview starts out with Lindsay talking about her past mistakes and how she’s trying to move on. She admits that:

“I was going to clubs all the time, and it was not okay. I was so alone. It made me not focus on what I was doing. I did it to myself, and I have to deal with the consequences. I’m thankful for what I can take out of it. Now I feel clear. That’s my past, and I’m a different person now. I have goals and I’m working to achieve them. I’m not hanging out with people who are out every night getting fucked up. And, I think that I’m happy.”

Happy about her non-relationship with DJ Samantha Ronson. Despite being photographed together on countless occasions, and dropping all kinds public hints (such as her confession on Loveline, which was later retracted), Lindsay has never officially confirmed a relationship with Samantha. However, she does tell Harper’s Bazaar:

“I feel like it jinxes it. It’s hard. The second I start talking about whomever I’m seeing, a month or two later it’s failed. I think it’s pretty obvious who I’m seeing. I think it’s no shock to anyone that it’s been going on for quite some time. … She’s a wonderful person and I love her very much.”

She goes on to say that her family, except for dad Michael Lohan, is supportive of her choice in a partner. She said that she spoke with younger sister Ali about it, and told her it was ok to date either a boy or a girl, and encouraged Ali to do what made her happy.

Also on reforming her bad-girl ways, Lindsay said she’s become a bit of a homebody and spends much of her time sitting in front of the tv, rather than partying at clubs. She’s also trying to become more engaged with current events and politics, often taking to her myspace blog to share her views on the recent Presidential election and some of the issues that were at the forefront of the race.

She also spoke of trying to revive her floundering career. She talked about 6126, her new line of leggings which is named for Marilyn Monroe’s birthday, and the decisions she is making on the direction she would like her music career to go in. And, despite just being fired from her guest starring role on Ugly Betty, she spoke about refocusing on acting. Rick Schwartz, producer of her latest movie, Labor Pains, said of the star:

“She delivered on every single thing that she promised me. When the director yells, ‘Action,’ you remember why she’s a movie star. I want to find a role for her — like Nicole Kidman’s in The Hours — that crystallizes her career. I feel like I’m trying to spread the gospel of Lindsay.”

Lindsay admits that it’s going to be an uphill battle getting Hollywood to trust her again and see that she is employable. She states that she’s a fighter, and “I’m up for a challenge, and I won’t settle.”
