On “The Today Show”, that aired earlier this day, Matt Lauer’s divorce will be referred to as the “Joke of the day” between him and his co-host Meredith Vieira. The question of “What is the right age to get married” started it all. Vieira stated “I got married in my 30s, when did you get married?”. She forgot that Matt was everything but lucky when it comes to marriage. He was married twice and once engaged. TV producer Nancy Alspaugh was his first wife, he was shortly engaged to Kristen Gesswein, and his second wife was dutch model Annette Roque. View the video of the Today Show here.




Matt Lauer Biography

Matt Todd Lauer was born on December 30th, 1957 in New York City. He is an American television personality and best known as the host of NBC’s “The Today Show”. He has been co-anchor of NBC News’ Today since January 6, 1997. He joined the show in January 1994 as a news anchor. Since then he has conducted a number of newsworthy interviews, including individuals who were involved in the Scott Peterson investigation, Amber Frye and Anne Bird, as well as the first interview with First Lady Hillary Clinton in 1998 after the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

Matt Lauer has 3 children with Dutch Model Annette Roque, Jack Matthew, Romy, and Thijs. When his wife was pregnant with their third child, the couple was officially separated. His wife filed for divorce at the Manhattan Supreme Court in September,2006. They decided to give their marriage another chance and now live with their children in New York City.
