Jerry Lewis is in the hot seat again, this time for making another gay slur. Read more about the story plus see photos and video of Jerry Lewis below.

Comedian Jerry Lewis obviously didn’t learn his lesson from last year. He is currently in Australia on tour, and while at a news conference in Sydney, he was asked by a Network Ten TV reporter on what he thought of the Australian sport of cricket. He replied:

“Oh, cricket? It’s a fag game. What are you, nuts?”

His comment was broadcast on the network Friday night, along with footage of the 82-year-old Lewis pretending to hold a cricket bat in an effeminate manner.

The spokesman for the Australia Coalition for Equality blasted Lewis, saying, “Lewis is a world-renowned comedian but clearly this wasn’t funny.”

ACE, along with GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation), are asking that Lewis apologize for the slur. In a statement released by Neil Giuliano, president of GLAAD, he commented on Lewis’ anti-gay slur of last year and went on to add:

“Clearly he did not take the lessons of that unfortunate episode to heart because, in an effort to be humorous, he has once again managed to offend and defame the gay community. For someone so well known for helping others, Mr. Lewis shows an incredible lack of dignity and respect when he makes comments that contribute to a climate of intolerance.”

Lewis’ spokeswoman said that he did not plan on commenting on the issue.
