Another internet rumor began swirling that Eminem died in a car crash on Sunday September 28th, 2008. The Eminem death rumor is false. Read the story.

Eminem Alive

Eminem Dead? No!

The rumor has been spreading on blogs and myspace websites for a day. Not only is this story a hoax, but it is also nothing new.

Way back in December, 2000, the very same hoax surfaced on MTV, but it was easily put to bed by the Urband Legends website:

“We read on the Internet on Sunday, December 17 that Slim Shady, a.k.a. Eminem, died in a car crash at 2:30 in the morning. According to this article he was on his way to a late-night party and was drunk and high on drugs.”

But Eminem issued an immediate denial on this website:

“Despite sick-minded ne’er do-well attempts to create a state of panic in this grand country by virtue of a well-crafted CNN.com fake news story prank, our beloved Slim Shady is alive and well,” the statement reads. “Marshall is alive and at home with his family for the holidays in Detroit. And he wishes all of you shady holidays and a dirty new year.”

So here we go again in 2008. Is Eminem dead or alive? The answer is alive, very alive. And that is a good thing. Why people create stupid rumors about car crashes is a mystery, but we are willing to educate and correct the record for his fans.

Eminem has done tributes to dead rapper friends, but that is a different matter entirely. He has also sung a song called “Dead Wrong,” which is a video we have below.

But Eminem did not die, so go to sleep happy.
