The controversial movie, Valkyrie, starring Tom Cruise is in the can and the trailer and behind the scenes video were released today. You can see photos, the movie poster and trailer here.
There was a big controversy over Tom Cruise’s new film, Valkyrie. It seems that Germany, and specifically the son of the German hero that Cruise portrays in the movie, didn’t want him there filming the movie. As Berthold Von Stauffenberg said last year, the movie was sure to be crap. That’s actually what he said. Although, for whatever you might think of Tom Cruise, he can act when he wants to. Just from the few snippets of the movie I’ve seen, it looks like it might be pretty good.
Tom Cruise plays Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg, German military hero, patriot and Hitler insider. He was also the leader of one of the nearest to be successful attempts to assassinate Adolf Hilter during World War II. There have been several movies made about the 1944 assassination attempt and resulting execution of the men involved.
You can read a synopsis of the movie and see the trailer that was just released earlier tonight and a behind the scenes video online now. A trailer and photos are below the fold.
