Eva Longoria’s television role as Gabrielle on Desperate Housewives will come to an end in 2011, around the same time the Avengers movie is set for release. This would be perfect timing for the actress to continue her career high, and make a debut as a superhero in the anticipated film.
After the photos of Eva leaving Marvel Comics hit the net rumors started flying that she was up for a role in the Avengers movie, and the most popular theory is that Eva is up for the role of Janet van Dyne. Janet van Dyne is also known as The Wasp, a flying, shrinking and stinging super hero. Janet is one of the founding members of the Avengers and the only female character in the series.
The Avengers is set for a July 1, 2011 release date. While “The First Avenger: Captain America” hits theatres on May 6, 2011.
