Sarah Palin has turned into an overnight sensation, becoming a historic figure as the first woman ever nominated by Republicans to be the Vice Presidential candidate. With Palin’s popularity growing and the nation’s curiosity rising, many people would think that talk show hosts everywhere are fighting to get an interview with her. Not Oprah. Despite thousands of fans requesting the iconic talk show host have Govenor Palin as a guest, Oprah has firmly said no.
According to reports, there will not be an Oprah/Palin interview as Oprah, a huge Barack Obama supporter, is refusing to have Palin on her show. The Oprah staff is said to be divided over the situation, and an executive close to Oprah warned that a Sarah Palin ban may be bad for ratings.
According to a poll from Rasmussen Reports, Governor Palin is now more popular than Democratic rock star, Obama. It would seem if Oprah gave both sides a chance, the ratings would reward her.
According to TMZ, Winfrey issued this statement regarding an interview with Governor Palin;
“The item in today’s Drudge Report is categorically untrue. There has been absolutely no discussion about having Sarah Palin on my show. At the beginning of this presidential campaign, when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates. I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over.”

Oprah, I am more interested in having Gov. Palin as a guest on your show than Obama. Palin is a real woman politician and she has a great story to tell…a successful working mother, raising a child with Down’s Syndrome, her support of her pregnant teenage daughter are of great interest to me. You are doing your viewers a disservice. I thought you of all people would want her as a guest on your show. Not to have her as a guest appears to me as a snub at best. I thought of all people you would not play such games with your audience. Frankly, I am thinking about your position on all things and maybe I should not be concerned with what you think and switch the channel

Oprah only reports half of the story, Obama’s half. The rest does not matter as the all- knowing-all seeing Oprah doth complain that it
was not really an “interview” with Oprah. It was rather a “chat” and she is so niave about such things that she did not know Obama was running for president. Well, it’s not a news show so there is no need for balance.It is a silly little show about nothing. Let it go people it’s just a talk show and she is just a hostess. She has been easily fooled in the past by charming men including that recovered drug addict that was not a drug addict. This was personal for her, She likes Obama, she likes slick men who speak well and she is easily fooled by them.

Oprah isn’t the place for any political candidate. She used to be interesting as a
talk show, but that’s been gone for a long
time. Now she’s just another celebrity to whom I no longer pay any attention.
I’m hoping that the candidates stay away from the late night talk shows and the boring Oprah show.
