Being a kid can be tough. But being the progeny of one of these amazingly embarrassing dads in the music business can be even tougher. Imagine being the child of Billy Ray Cyrus.

AOL has compiled a list of the most embarrassing dads in music, and I tend to agree with their choices.
Among the fray are Billy Ray Cyrus, whose 15 year old daughter Miley Cyrus has a string of scandalous behavior in her short career. Did you realize that he has other kids? That’s right, Billy Ray Cyrus is also the father of Noah Lindsay, Braison Chance, Cody, Trace and Brandi. Why is Billy Ray an embarrassing dad? Not because he proudly sported a mullet in the early 90s. The reason he is included in the list is because he exploits his child’s fame, and tends to ignore the others in his family:
The only thing more embarrassing than having a daughter whose career is exponentially larger than your own is attempting to ride on the coattails of your popular child. Billy Ray stars in Miley’s TV show and even posed with the young superstar for Vanity Fair.

This is dumb. Billy Ray Cyrus is a great man. He is NOT riding on the coat tails of Miley. And how do YOU know that Billy ignores the rest of his family. Obviously he’s not going to be showing off all his family members in front of the crowd right?

I cannot for the life of me see where being in the same TV show as your daughter and posing with her in a photo is riding on her coattails - especially when the same rag mags and gossip sites will just as quickly accuse Miley, herself, of riding on her own dad’s coattails. The media and even public will forever and always be fickle, unforgiving and cruel. This father-daughter team is #1 in my book and they’ve gotten a severely RAW deal from the media and from the public. They are natural talents - so let them shine. AOL sucks, Rock on Miley and Billy Ray!!!

there’s nothing wrong with billy ray being on the same tv show as miley. that way he is around her all the time and can spend more time with her and watch out for her. that’s exactly what a good parent does. billy ray probably made tons of money from his “some gave all” cd and the “doc” tv show. from what i’ve seen, miley is the most normal girl in hollywood in a long time, and it is thanks to her parents. none of those pics that were stolen from her cellphone were too bad, and they were meant to be private. her vanity fair photo incident was way overblown, the photo was innocent enough. miley is a good, clean-cut, wholesome, all-american girl and deserves all the good things that are happening to her now.

Gotta’ love all the support flowing in from you guys on Billy Ray and his family. It was a little weird seeing him on the list, but I guess it makes sense. He was a country music superstar, and some of the magazines don’t take very kindly to that, eh?
He’s no Akon, who tops the list of embarrassing dads, that’s for sure!
