Andre Romelle Young Jr., the 20-year-old son of Dr. Dre, was found dead in his home Saturday morning. Read more and see photos and video here.
According to reports Andre Young Jr. had gone out with his friends the previous night. His mother heard him return to his home in Woodland Hills, California around 5:30 am, but when she went to wake him up five hours later, she found him unresponsive. Paramedics were called, but efforts to revive him were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy was conducted, however the cause of death has yet to be determined, and is pending the results of the toxicology report. The coroner’s rep confirmed the passing of Andre Young Jr. on Saturday, but could not confirm that is was Dr. Dre’s son. This morning a spokesperson for Dr. Dre confirmed the sad news and released the following statement;
“Dr. Dre is mourning the loss of his son Andre Young Jr. Please respect his family’s grief and privacy at this time.”
