Watch Muna Lee run for the gold Thursday, at the final of the 200m. She placed second in the qualifying round on Tuesday. Her 5th place run on Sunday during the 100 meters was disappointing, but she said it has helped her prepare for the 200 meters.

“I was pretty mad,” she said of her fifth-place finish Sunday, “but it added fuel to my fire.”

Muna Lee Biography

As a biography, Muna Lee was born on October 30, 1981 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She is 26 ears old. She is five feet seven inches tall and weighs 109 pounds.

Muna grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas and moved to Kansas City in 1989. She attended Central High School where she lettered all four years in track and three in basketball.

Muna attended Louisiana State University, where she had a stellar collegiate career. She was a member of LSU’s 4×100 relay team that won the NCAA Outdoor title in 2001. At the Indoor Championships of the same year, she took second place in the 200m and fourth place in the 100m. At the NCAA Outdoor Championships, she placed second in the 100m and 200m in 2003 and 2004.

She competed at the 2004 Athens Summer Games and placed 7th in the 200m. She would win the gold medal at the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki, as a member of the 4×100 m relay team.

At the 2008 Beijing Olympics, she placed 5th in the 100m with a time of 11.07. She is hoping for a gold medal in the 200m, which will be held Thursday. You can see more of Muna’s career highlights here and here.
