Ruslana Korshunova, a stunning supermodel, fell to her death from the ninth floor of her New York City apartment earlier today, in what appears to be a suicide. See her biography, photos, and video here.
Ruslana Korshunova is an accomplished model who Vogue magazine named the “next big thing.� She traveled the world for glamorous photo shoots and was living the dream, so her suicide came as a shock to those who knew her.
Ruslana Korshunova was born in Almaty, Kazakh SSR on July 2, 1987, so she was just about to celebrate her 21st birthday. She had unique and alluring look, standing at 5’8� with blonde hair and green eyes that made her modeling pictures stand apart from the rest. Her measurements were perfect as well, at 33-24-34. In 2003 Debbie Jones of Models 1 discovered her. From that point on Ruslana had a successful career, represented by agencies around the world such as, IMG New York, Paris, and London, Beatrice in Milan, and iCasting in Moscow.
Ruslana modeled around the word for many high fashion designers such as DKNY, Vera Wang and Christian Dior. She worked Fashion Week in NYC and London, walking down the runway for top designers like Jill Stuart, Betsey Johnson, and Rosa Cha. The beauty had just finished a job in Paris and friends said she was on “top of the world�.
Ruslana Korshunova was living in a swanky NYC apartment on Water Street in the Financial district. Just before 2:30 pm a Con Ed worker and a cop were talking when they noticed a body in the street. The body was that of Korshunova, who had apparently leapt to her death from her ninth floor apartment, in what is thought to be a suicide. A friend told the NY Post that he is shocked at the suicide, and her had no idea she was suffering mentally. He says,
“There were no signs. That’s what’s driving me crazy. I don’t see one reason why she would do that.”

It is so very sad - where is her family? Sometimes a person can become suddenly successful, and may too vulnerable, too sensitive to know how to cope. If there is a tendency towards depression, if the former home life wasn’t good, naturally there would be feelings of destructiveness. It is so important to have some sort of support system in place; even if it is just one therapist who can be there for you, keep you under his or her wing in such a way that helps you to keep trusting in life. Everyone needs it!

I feel terrible she was beautiful…..i was viewing her videos and alot of pictures were mistaken identities. She has a unique look and noone else can ever get away with it. God bless her family and may she rest in peace

She had everything it seems - beauty, a successful modelling career, money and a VERY promising future! Its sad to see this and why she would do something like this. Its very sad, she could have had so much in the future. Goodbye Ruslana, you will leave a noticable mark on the modelling industry - you were beauty!
