Robert Knox, a young actor who just had his big break by landing a role as Marcus Belby in the new Harry Potter movie, “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,� was stabbed to death early this morning. Read more about him and see his photos here.
Robert Knox and his younger brother had been drinking with some friends at the Metro Bar, which is close to his family’s home is south-east London. Apparently there was a big fight outside the bar, involving almost a half dozen people. One of the men is suspected to be perpetrator. Tragically Robert was killed, and it turns out that he was just trying to protect his younger brother, Jamie, from two knife-wielding men.
Robert Knox’s family and friends are devastated. In a statement released by the family they said;
“(Robert) was kind and thoughtful and would always help others out. Rob would always spend his last penny on other people instead of himself. He was respectful to others and adored by all his family and friends. He was an asset to the family.�
Rob, 21, had just landed his big role on Happy Potter that would have been a great start to his career. In the movie he stars alongside Daniel Radcliffe as Marcus Belby, a Ravenclaw student at Hogwarts.
UPDATE: Karl Bishop, the 22 year old charged in the stabbing, that resulted in the death of death of 18-year-old “Harry Potter” actor Robert Knox has finally been convicted. If found guilty, Bishop can face up to life in prison.
Robert’s parents, Sally and Colin Knox, read the following statement to the court;
“As a mother and parent, I can never forgive the person responsible for taking my son Robert’s life, or the devastation that has been caused by these actions.”
“Living my life without my son in it is like having a daily nightmare,” Knox’s father, Colin, said in a statement. “Those people that have nightmares will wake up in the morning and say, ‘Thank God it was only a nightmare,’ and their life returns to normal. The opposite is my new way of life. I live my nightmare daily … I miss him so much it breaks my heart. All I have are memories to remember him by.”
