Here are the videos for Prince’s Super Bowl half-time show. There was a time when Prince was a recognized wierdo, a practically transvestite freak who changed “his” name to a symbol as part of some strange neurosis. A segment of the cultural contrarians always followed him just because he was strange.

Now I turn on the television and find that Prince’s strangeness has become mainstream in our culture. Up has become down, right has become maybe. Fine, if that’s what you want. Here are the videos of Prince at the Superbowl, phallic guitar and all. Whatever.

    I find it hard to believe that once upon a time in the late 1980s/early 1990s I thought that Prince was cool.

    I guess some of us grow up after a while. It’s too bad he never did.
