Billy and Katie Joel were on Oprah giving viewers a tour of their New York City home. Billy sang a song for the crowd and Katie promoted her new book, “The Comfort Table”, that comes out in May 2008.

As a biography, Katie Lee Joel was born in 1981 in Huntington, West Virginia, so she is age 27. She graduated from Miami University of Ohio with a degree in English and Journalism. On October 2, 2004, Katie married Billy Joel, 31 years her senior. Billy’s then 18-year-old daughter Alexa Ray served as the maid of honor at the Long Island wedding. Since then, the couple has been constantly plagued by rumors of relationship troubles.

A long-time foodie, Katie has done a lot of work on television as a chef and food-lover. In 2006, she served as the host for the first season of Bravo’s Top Chef. She did not return for season two. She has also appeared on Iron Chef America as a guest judge in 2007. Katie has a culinary column in Hamptons magazine called “Katie’s Kitchen”.

Since marrying Billy Joel, Katie has enjoyed the celebrity lifestyle. Or at least tried to. In September 2007, she was turned away from Diddy’s white party because she broke the rules, and wore cream.
