Just as Transformers was revamped and modernized, the same thing is set for next summers action packed G.I. Joe movie. Lorenzo di Bonaventura who produced Transformers is also overseeing this big blockbuster and yesterday we got our first glimpse at one of the characters.
This faceless character, Snake Eyes, is a black-clad ninja who is mute in the film.
“He’s the world’s greatest ninja, but he’s also next-generation. He’s not afraid to use a sword one second, and a split-second later he’s pulling out his Glock,” says director Stephen Sommers.
The movie is said to be for fans and newbies. It will offer a great plot for those who never saw G.I. Joe, but at the same time it will take fans back to the roots and give them an action packed revival of their childhood.
The cast features Channing Tatum as all-American team leader Duke. Rachel Nichols as the crossbow-wielding Scarlett, Marlon Wayans is paratrooper Ripcord and Dennis Quaid as the commander, Hawk. Sienna Miller plays the raven-haired Baroness, Christopher Eccleston is Destro, the arms dealer behind a silver mask, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays multiple roles, including the Cobra Commander.
