Amanda Overmyer, the rocker nurse on ‘American Idol’ has been involved in a series of vehicle offenses, including spending time behind bars for DUI.

American Idol has always been good for producing good singers and good scandals. When the viewing audience saw Amanda in Hollywood, we found out she had been involved in a serious auto accident. Now there is reportedly more to this story as she has had multiple driving offenses. Her arrest for drunk driving occurred in Crawfordsville, Indiana at 3:18 a.m. on October 14 2006.

Officer Jared Colley noted that her eyes were bloodshot and her balance was poor. Police paperwork reads that Amanda, a nurse, gave a blood alcohol test of 0.108 - above the legal limit of 0.08. She spent six hours in the Montgomery County Jail before being released on bail.

The result of her arrest was a 180 days of probation and a suspended sentence of 60 days. Her probation ended in August 2007. Overmyer apparently also was caught driving 100 mph in a 45 mph zone and running a red light. Looks like Amanda is preparing herself for the music business in every aspect. It’s really sad too, because she’s a great singer and looks like she could make it in the music world. Oh, and she works in the medical field. Shouldn’t these people know better?
