Meet Vicki Iseman, the 40-year-old lobbyist who is rumored to have had a romantic relationship Republican presidential hopeful John McCain. See her biography and photos here.
After the sex scandal rumors broke, Vicki Iseman and John McCain vehemently denied the story.
As a biography, Vicki Iseman graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in elementary education in 1990. From there her career as a lobbyist took off. She began as a secretary at Alcalde and Fay, but became a partner at the firm after only 8 years. At the firm, Iseman works as a consultant and fundraiser, in addition to lobbying.
On February 21, 2008, the New York Times broke a story hinting at a romantic relationship between Vicki Iseman and John McCain. The paper said,
[Iseman] had been turning up with him at fund-raisers, visiting his offices and accompanying him on a client’s corporate jet. Convinced the relationship had become romantic, some of his top advisers intervened to protect the candidate from himself — instructing staff members to block the woman’s access, privately warning her away and repeatedly confronting him, several people involved in the campaign said on the condition of anonymity.
While the relationship itself is scandalous, adding to the drama is the fact that Iseman’s clients often have business in front of the Senate committee led by McCain, leading some to hint at political improprieties. Though Iseman has never personally given money to a McCain campaign, her clients have donated “tens of thousands of dollars”.
