Kirstie Alley is saying good-bye to Jenny Craig after three years of weight loss and spokesperson success to launch her own “weight-loss brand”. This leaves Jenny Craig with Valerie Bertinelli and new face Queen Latifah to carry on the dream.
Kirstie plans to launch the new diet program in 2009. Scott Parker, Jenny Craig’s VP of marketing said:
“We are sorry that she did not accept our offer” to continue appearing in the company’s ad campaign, “but we wish her all the best in her future endeavors.”
Of her ideas, Kirstie notes:
“There was a time when America was not fat, and that was in our not-so-distant past. I’m confident that I can create something exciting and innovative: something that if all goes well, will help change a fat America back into a fit America and will offer this country the healthiest, yummiest, easiest and most effective weight-loss program on the market.”
Kirstie lost 75 pounds on the Jenny Craig program. She announced her plans for her own program because questions arose after stepping down as the company’s spokesperson.
