The American Idol Top 24 were revealed tonight…Who made it? Check out the list below.
American Idol Top 24
One of the biggest surprises of the night was the fact that Josiah Leming did not make it through. Okay, yeah, his rendition of Stand By Me really sucked last night, but I just felt from his past auditions that it would have carried him to the Top 24. Obviously he didn’t take the news well and the tears started a flowin’. I felt really bad for him.
For the men, some of my favorites did make it through - David Archuleta, Danny Noriega, and Michael Johns. Others did not…I was disappointed that geeky future Governor of Oklahoma Kyle Ensley did not make it through. Unbelievably, Simon agreed as well. This kid would have added something to the competition…he would have been the one that everyone would tune in to watch every week just to see what he would do. And no, he’s not anything like Sanjaya.
For the ladies, there were the obvious ones that made it through - Kristy Lee Cook, Carly Smithson (yay!), Ramiele Malubay (yay for the Filipino!), and Asia’h Epperson. Amanda Overmyer made it through, but I’m not really feelin’ the vibe with her so we’ll see how America feels about her in the coming weeks.
The men will start the competition off next Tuesday, with the ladies singing on Wednesday. You know the drill…results show Thursday. Brace yourselves people…it’s gonna be a long ride.
