Marlina Moreno is one of 28 San Diego Charger girls, and she takes her job seriously. Moreno wants people to realize that it takes a lot of hard work and professionalism.

“Our game-day uniforms aren’t much, but we always project a classy image,” Moreno said. “I never tell people I’m a dancer because they’ll automatically assume I’m a stripper.”

Marlina Moreno Biography

Marlina Moreno is 23 years old and has been on the squad for two years. She hails from Vista, California and attended San Diego State along with three other of the squad members. Although she majored in advertising, Marlina is of Mexican heritage and would like to travel to Spain and learn spanish fluently.

While in school, Moreno worked as a cheerleading coach at an after-school program for young girls in San Diego. Along with coaching, Moreno held down a cocktail waitressing job and worked for land developer David Santistevan as a personal assistant.

As far as the cheerleading goes, Marlina sees the opportunities she has in her position. The cheerleaders do a lot of promotional work and some pays quite well. For example, she shot a Samsung commercial for television that paid in royalties, but money isn’t her motivation.

“I’m doing (Charger Girls) for the experience, for the girls I’ve made friends with, involvement in the community and because I love football and I love to dance.”
