Kate Garraway is a journalist and news anchor from England. Garraway recently starred on ‘Strictly Come Dancing,’ which has caused rumors to fly about an affair with her partner Anton du Beke. You can read her biography and see her photos below.
Since the show wrapped, Kate Garraway and du Beke have been involved in joint television appearances, which has only fueled the fire on the rumors. The two were said to have great chemistry on screen and some have wondered whether that chemistry has carried over off screen. Garraway, who is married to Derek Draper, vehemently denies the accusations.
A spokesman for the couple said the “suggestion” of an affair in the Sunday Mirror was “utterly false” and they had instructed solicitors to begin libel proceedings.
Kate Garraway was born May 4, 1968, in Abingdon, Oxford which makes her age 39. She graduated from BathSpa University and then kicked off her broadcasting career with a job at BBC Radio Oxford. Garraway slowly moved up the broadcasting ladder until she landed a position at BBC News 24. She parlayed that job into a morning show gig with Sky News and finally, Garraway joined GMTV in a main anchor position.
Garraway’s fame has led to other opportunities including starring on the TV shows ‘The People’s Quiz,’ ‘Loose Women’ and ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire?’ This exposure, along with her looks, has made her particularly liked by the male population. There is even a fansite dedicated to her with nearly 30,000 members.
Kate’s recent scandal is not her first. Garraway was previously married to producer Ian Rumsey, but their marriage ended amid cheating accusations. She then married Derek Draper and was photographed smoking with their first child. After her daughter’s birth, Kate lost a lot of weight, caused by an overactive thyroid, but it still had people talking.
