Gorgeous Russian-Austrian operatic soprano, Anna Netrebko, has announced that she is pulling out of this year’s Salzburg Festival due to becoming pregnant with her first child. Anna is Russian born, but maintains Austrian citizenship. She and her fiancé, Uruguayan baritone Erwin Schrott, will settle down in Vienna.
Anna Netrebko has been working on a film called “La Boheme” and she is also the star of “Romeo et Juliette,” but pulled out of the show when she announced her pregnancy. In the past, Anna has performed throughout the world in concert and recital, including performing at Berlin’s Waldbühne in front of an audience of 15,000 people. The performance was broadcasted on German television. This led to greater success in her career, and in 2005 she preformed at Munich’s Königsplatz for an audience of 17,000.
The baby is due in late summer-early fall.
