This biographical article is in memory of Chere Rhodes, the Penthouse girlfriend of Max Baer, Jr. He played Jethro Bodine on the Beverly Hillbillies television program. See her hot modeling photos and life story here.
Chere Rhodes
She attempted suicide on January 24th, 2007 while on vacation in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. She shot herself and died several days later in a hospital on January 27th at 1pm. She was 30 years old.
According to the police, Baer phoned 911 Thursday afternoon after discovering his girlfriend unconscious in a bedroom with a gunshot wound. When sheriff deputies arrives she awakened and told them she wanted to kill herself. There was a suicide note. The couple had apparently been having relationship problems.
Chere Rhodes attended Castle Park High School in Chula Vista California, graduating in 1995. She later moved to Nevada. Somewhere along the line she had assumed the name Chere Soto. She had aspirations to make it big in the modeling world, as many girls dream of, including movies.
She was a Penhouse swimwear model often appearing in bathing suits and lingerie ads. She appeared in promotional material for Miller, Budweiser, Casadores, and did three pinup calendars. She would have been great in film but it did not happen for her.
Her measurement included very large assets, 34DD-24-35 to be exact. She was 5′6″ tall and weighed 120 pounds.
She had beautiful friends and a beautiful, large family. Chere Rhodes loved life and cherished her family. She is survived by two children, a boy and girl, and has a wonderful sister who loves her. Rest in peace, Chere.
Very telling is the passage on her website, “Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away!”

Like her family said, it is a shame that you have left out family and friends that she left behind.. also the facts of the story seem to be a little distorted along the way… make sure when you publish something that you have all the evidence you need…. As for LOUIS CYPHRE.. you are a low life piece of shit scum, who never knew the real her… she was always smiling and had 2 beautiful children to live for.. .something went wrong and she didnt ask for help with the right people… love you Chere and you are in my heart and prayers always

When you think of max baer jr you should also remember he was in trouble repeatedly for domestic violence in 1970 he beat up Victoria Principal and when question about it he said she was a bitch and deserved it. Also they are not relesing the whole story to the public so dont believe that the truth is out.

She lived with my family back in the day! You guys don’t know a damn thing about her! My family knew her…I knew her! Went to school with her and watched her go through family drama. She had problems since the first day we met! Regardless of all that bullshit…underneath all that, she had a good heart! She just had a different way of dealing with things. It’s just sad that with all the friends and family she has, that she couldn’t turn to anyone of them for help! I’m sorry that it resulted in what it did but we can’t change things now! God bless her and especially those 2 beautiful kids she has!

she was an amazing person. I have had the pleasure of know her for several years. we text often and had gotten together from time to time. she was a very loving giving person who always thought of the other person
