Christmas isn’t all about presents and Santa Claus, and these celebrities know it. Here’s a sampling of how celebrities were volunteering their time this 2007 Christmas season.

Jennifer Love Hewitt was pictured serving a holiday meal to the homeless at the Los Angeles Mission in downtown L.A. this Christmas Eve.

Other stars weren’t photographed, but they did good deeds nonetheless:

  • Chris Martin, frontman of Coldplay and husband to Gwyneth Paltrow, uses his plumbing skills to lend a hand. Every Christmas Martin fixes water pipes for free at homeless shelters around London.
  • Dick Van Dyke and 200 other volunteers served Christmas brunch at the Midnight Mission in Los Angeles.
  • Dane Cook, Jamie Kennedy, Jon Lovitz, and Paul Rodriguez served dinner at the 29th annual Christmas meal served free at the Laugh Factory.
  • Nicole Kidman plans to donate her timely winnings in a libel suit to UNIFEM, the United Nations Development Fund for Women. Of her involvement in the cause Nicole says,

“When you’ve been blessed with a fortunate life, it is very much your duty to find the places where you can give back.”

  • The Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes Foundation hosted its second annual Celebrity Gift Wrap and Fundraiser at the Mall at Stone Crest in Lithonia, Georgia. Celebrity gift wrappers at the mall included Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, Case, Donnell Jones, Slim of the group 11, Ronnie Devoe, and Jagged Edge.

I’m sure there are many, many more good deeds being done by the famous and non-famous alike this season, but it’s nice to see some highlights too.
