Danielle Fishel was arrested for drunk driving.

Danielle Fishel is in the news today as reports are surfacing that she was arrested Thursday morning on a drunk driving warrant. Officers stopped her car in Newport Beach shortly before 5:00 AM Thursday. She was released from jail a little while after she was arrested.

As a biography, Danielle was born on May 5, 1981 in Mesa, Arizona. Her family would move to Yorba Linda, California when she was just three weeks old.

Danielle was discovered at 10 years old when she appeared in two community theater productions, “The Wizard of Oz” and “Peter Pan”. She appeared in commercials and did voice-over work. She got her start on TV when she was featured in two episodes of the “Full House”.

In 1993, Danielle would begin her seven year long run as Topanga Lawrence on ABC’s “Boy Meets World”. Topanga was the love interest for the show’s main character, Cory Matthews, (played by Ben Savage). The show ended in 2000, with the characters of Cory and Topanga marrying.

Since the end of Boy Meets World, she has appeared in some movies - National Lampoon’s Dorm Daze, National Lampoon’s Dorm Daze 2, and Gamebox 1.0.

Danielle is also the spokesperson for Nutrisystem, after having lost 20 pounds on the program. She appeared on the Tyra Banks Show to talk about her weight loss and became a correspondent for the show in February 2007.

Danielle did at one time date her co-star on Boy Meets World, Ben Savage, as well as N’Sync band member Lance Bass, who has since come out and revealed in 2006 that he was gay. “It wasn’t a shock for me. I found out probably a year or two after we broke up. People magazine was not my first time knowing Lance was gay! He is an awesome guy, he was an awesome boyfriend and he is still a very good friend of mine.”
