Model Katy French Dies

Katy French, an Irish model, has died in the hospital after falling into a coma four days prior. See her biography and photos below.




Katy French underwent an autopsy and toxicology tests to determine the cause of death. The examination concluded that the model suffered brain damage after suspected cocaine use immediately before being admitted to the hospital.

Katy French Biography

Katy French was born on October 31, 1983 and died December 6, 2007 at age 24. French was born in Basel, Switzerland and moved to Ireland when she was two.

Katy was represented by Assets Models and did work for Sony Ericsson and Suzuki. She also made television appearances on RTE’s ,The Podge and Rodge Show’ and ‘Turbidy Tonight.’ Assets Model Agency released this statement on her death.

“She will be sadly missed by all of her colleagues and the management team of Assets Model Agency, our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends at this sad time.”

Katy also had a controversial side. In an interview with Hot Press’s Jason O’Toole she spoke of abortion, wearing fur and cocaine use. French reportedly said she would consider having an abortion if the pregancy was in the peak of her career and she loved animals but also loved fur. She denied ever using cocaine, but confessed in a later interview to be a regular user. She warned people to not take the same path she had.

French was also briefly engaged to restauranteur Marcus Sweeney and planned to marry in Rome. Sweeney called off the engagement after Katy did a lingerie shoot in his restaraunt. The two tried to reconcile a couple times but they eventually permanently separated.
