Meet U.S. Army Sargeant Jill Stevens, Miss Utah. See her hot pageant photos, biograhy and video here.

Known as “G.I. Jill,” she will be competing for the Miss America pageant, representing the state of Utah in Las Vegas, January 2008. The pressure will be nothing for Miss Utah. Jill Stevens is a member of the 1st Battalion, 211th Aviation, Utah National Guard. She served in Afghanistan as an army medic.

Miss Utah Jill Stevens Biography

Jill is no stranger to competition either. She ran in the very first marathon race in Afghanistan for women. Guess what place she finished? First! See her official U.S. military homepage here.

“Jill Stevens is a wonderful ambassador for the Guard. Obviously she is bright and attractive, but most important, she’s a terrific Soldier.” — Major Gen. Brian Tarbet of the Utah National Guard.

Her biography includes several marathons while attending Southern Utah University. She graduated in May of 2007 with a degree in nursing. She is a world-class competitive sailor and a fitness buff. She modeled in Muscle and Fitness Hers Magazine in the September-October 2007 issue as “Women of Strength.”

While in Afghanistan, Jill noticed that the eyes of a 5-year old village girl were cross-eyed. She is the little girl in the picture. Sgt. Stevens prodded a U.S. Army surgeon to correct the problem and convinced the tribal elders it was a good idea. One week later, the beautiful little girl had perfect sight, as Jill’s guest on the base.

See Miss Utah pageant pictures and army photos of Jill Stevens below, along with a cool video.

Thank you for your outstanding job representing young American women. You not only have represented your country well in the military but you stood up in front a nationwide audience dressed tastefully and walking proudly, like a true lady. You have shown that you don’t have to flaunt it when you have it and that you can keep a sense of humor during disappointment. (I loved the push-ups!) WELL DONE AND YOU SHOULD BE PROUD OF YOURSELF,

Sgt. Stevens: I am the author of the new “Family Emergency Preparedness Plan,” being published by Cedar Fort Publishing in Springville, UT. The publishers rep, Kammi Rencher, suggested that, since this is your Miss America Platform, you might like to be involved in this book in some way. Perhaps you’d like to be a reviewer, or contribute something to the book. Please contact me thru Ms. Rencher at so that we might discuss this further. Thank you! Teena Read
