“It paints the women as shrews, as humorless and uptight, and it paints the men as goofy, fun-loving guys. … It was hard for me to love the movie.”
Harsh words for a movie that bumped the actress from a $300,000 pay day to $6 million for her next movie. But she doesn’t stop at Judd Apatow’s ‘Knocked Up’ – she goes after the writers of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ too, for making Izzie have an affair with George.
“That was kind of a big change for Izzie, wasn’t it, after she was so up on her moral high ground. They really hurt somebody, and they didn’t seem to be taking a lot of responsibility for it. I have a really hard time with that kind of thing. … It was a ratings ploy. It was absolutely something that shocked people; it wasn’t predictable, and people didn’t see it coming. It’s our fourth season; there’s not a lot of spontaneity left. And business is business; I understand that, but I want there to be some cooperation between the business end and the creative end, so there’s some way of keeping it real.?
Wow, I guess Katherine missed that episode of ‘Friends’ where Joey talked smack about the ‘Days of Our Lives’ writers, so they killed him off the show by throwing him into an elevator shaft. (And, yes, I can compare most any situation to a ‘Friends’ episode.) Look for Izzie to get killed off the show as soon as this writer’s strike is over. (Kidding, I’m kidding.)
In other Katherine Heigl news, she’s just made Barbara Walters’ 10 Most Fascinating People list. Yep, she made the list alongside Jason Timberlake. At least that’s what she called Justin on ‘The View’ – wow, Barbara’s knack for keeping all those celebrities straight is fading.
