Celine Dion wants to win an Oscar for portraying late opera singer Maria Callas. She’s been having a recurring dream of her acceptance speech – and the dream seems pretty vivid.
“(In my dream) I am at the front row at the Academy Awards with my mother, husband and son and it’s announced I have won the Oscar for my role as opera star Maria Callas. First I thank the Academy in English, then I speak Maria’s language, Greek, then some French to thank the people at home. I look at the faces of mother, husband and son. Priceless.”
Am I the only one who thinks Celine Dion is just hilarious? With her album release and upcoming tour, I’m sure we’ll be hearing a lot more awesome quotes from her.
Also, if you don’t want to shell out the cash for a ticket, Celine will be performing a free concert in Quebec August 22nd. Maybe she’s trying to make up for cancelling her concert in Halifax on August 23rd. The regional council had already agreed to spend up to $150,000 to bring Dion to the port city, but Celine’s promoter said, “…the venue is not appropriate for the concert’s elaborate production needs and would not satisfy the best interests of Celine Dion’s public.”
