Britney Spears has furthered her legal troubles by failing a drug test this past weekend. Sources close to the former pop star are saying that it was a false positive, caused by the medication Provigil. After several news outlets began questioning why Britney would be on a drug to treat narcolepsy, the source said it could also be from her inhaler, Albuterol. Britney does not have asthma either, but uses it to suppress her appetite.
However, the drug test read positive for amphetamine, which neither of those drugs have. Common drugs containing amphetamine are cocaine, crack. meth., and speed.
Kevin Federline’s attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan, will be sure to press the issue and reveal more details tomorrow in court. He will also be looking into why Britney ran a red light with her children in the car.
What I want to know is – why is Britney taking two drugs she doesn’t have symptoms for, especially something as serious as Provigil? And, why haven’t the courts done something yet, if she tested positive days ago?
