Nick Bollea, aka Nick Hogan, has been arrested on felony charges resulting from his crash back in August. The tragic accident left his friend, John Graziano, requiring care for the rest of his life. Graziano was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident.
Clearwater police took their time gathering the facts, and building a case. Nick was suspected to be street racing another car, which was confirmed in the arrest report. The report also indicated that the other car, driven by Daniel Jacobs, did not contribute to the crash. What did lead to the violent accident was Nick driving recklessly on wet roads, at speeds of over 60 mph in a 40 mph zone. Nick is also cited for having a blood alcohol level of .055, which is illegal for the seventeen year old. He was also driving with a restricted license, which only legally allowed him to drive during the day.
The Bollea (Hogan) family has not issued a statement except to comment that John was not wearing his seatbelt,
“The tragedy to both families is compounded by the fact that unfortunately John was not wearing his seatbelt. Thankfully, Nick was wearing his. Because of what happened to John, the entire Bollea family will make it a priority to increase public awareness about the importance of always wearing your seatbelt.”
The Graziano family was not happy with the blame being placed on their son’s decision not to wear his seat belt, calling Nick a “hellion on wheels.” They are planning a lawsuit against the Bolleas.
Meanwhile Nick has been released from jail, awaiting trial, where he will be charged as an adult. Nick’s entire immediate family was there as he was released.

i hope nick gets out of it with something reasonable(but not too bad). im sure that the very last thing that he intended was to hurt his friend, and he didnt mean it. it was wrong and stupid of him but he’s just a kid and we all make mistakes. and sometimes tragedys just happen…its the way of life and no ones to blame(completely).

it was an incredibly stupid thing to break so many rules, but the one thing i dont hold against him is his friend. yes its terrible but nick didnt and would never intensionally try to harm his friend. im sure he feels terrible but we need to also undersatnd that everything happens for a reason, and that there were no other alternatives for what happened because it was meant to. i dont beleive that nick should be completely at blame for anything but driving like an idiot.

I think it is amazing how the Family of the Friend who was hurt is in total “denial” that “their son” was there doing the same thing as Nick!!! The only difference is, is that their son was the one who got hurt. Maybe they should take some responsibility for their sons “lack” of judgment”. Obviously, if he was not there doing the same thing, he would not have gotten hurt.
Sounds like that family needs to take a good look in the mirror at themselves and get off of their high horse!! Sounds like they are a bunch of rich snobs in denial.
My heart goes out to the Hulk Hogan Family. They are facing many trial in their lives and I wish them all the best.

whoo Nelly, have you seen Nicks supped(sp) up cars? 60 in a 40, say it aint so Joe. If they said he was going 90 in a 40 yes I would be very concerned. I live in metro Louisville. People drive 60 in a 40 all day long in rush hour. It was an unfortunate accident, and he had been drinking, but not over the limit. He deserves some severe punishment, but the passenger, as far as I can tell, was a willing participant and an idiot for not wearing his seatbelt. They should both share some of the blame. How many people died from gun felonies in the US today. Probabaly 200. What is the penantly someone usually gets. 3-5 for reckless homicide. I think Nick should be looking at about 2 years in prison, to me any more time then that reconfirms it’s o.k. to kill someone with a gun, but don’t have an “accident” in a car or were going to crucify you.
