Cate Blanchett had a glow about her walking the red carpet in Australia on Saturday promoting her new film ‘Elizabeth: The Golden Age.’ This glow, she confirmed, is what people have been speculating since her first promotional appearance in Italy last month. Blanchett is four months pregnant with her third child. The 38-year-old and husband Andrew Upton have two other children, six-year-old Dashiell and three-year-old Roman.
Although pregnant, Blanchett is still expected to join her husband in January as joint artistic director of the Sydney Theatre Company. This decision has caused some controversy with “one actor quitting the prestigious troupe, saying ‘an Oscar for acting is not a suitable recommendation to run the biggest theatre company in the country’.”
Wow, I guess an Oscar doesn’t have much clout in Australia. And congrats to Cate on the pregnancy. She should sit down with Jennifer Lopez and Christina Aguilera and explain how easy it is to say, ‘Yes, I am pregnant.’
