Halle Berry appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno

Halle Berry apologized last night after making an anti-Semitic remark while she taped “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” on Friday afternoon.

Halle was showing Jay photos of herself that she made using the Mac program Photo Booth, which distorts images. According to a member of the audience:

“She introduced the first photo by saying, ‘Here’s where I look like my Jewish cousin!’ - it was a picture of her with a huge, distorted nose. No one laughed, and Jay nervously said, ‘I’m glad you said that and not me.’ When the show aired, they cut out her ‘Jewish’ comment and added a laugh track to the bit.”

You can see the video below where the anti-Semitic remark has been edited out.

Halle was tearful when she spoke with Page Six last night and told them that “she didn’t mean to offend anybody”. She had asked Jay to take the remark out as she realized after the show that it could be seen as offensive.

Halle and her boyfriend, Gabriel Autry, are expecting their first child, which is due in the spring. She appeared on “The Tonight Show” to promote her film, “Things We Lost in the Fire”.
