Sophie Monk’s Biography

28-year-old Sophie Monk was born on December 14, 1979 in England, but grew up in Queensland on Australia’s Gold Coast.

In 1999, Monk drove all night to audition for a TV talent show called Popstars, which was putting together a new girls group. Sophie made the cut and went on to record a string of hits with the other five in the group called “Bardot.”

When the band split up in 2002, Sophie launched a successful solo career which continues today.

Monk has in now branching out in new directions, and moved to LA to pursue an acting career, landing roles in Date Movie, and Click (alongside Adam Sandler).

Sophie is engaged to Benji Madden of the band Good Charlotte.
