The Malibu fire that has already completely destroyed over 1000 acres, numerous structures and three residences, including landmark Malibu Castle, is still raging on.
The fire is being aided by one of the worst droughts in years and strong Santa Ana winds which are expected to continue over the next several days.
Areas of Malibu, a celebrity filled community, have been evacuated, including homes belonging to Olivia Newton-John and “Titanic” director James Cameron, neither of which is believed to be in the country, however, Newton-John does have family staying in the home.
Other celebrity homes in danger include the homes of Jennifer Aniston, Sting, Tatum O’Neal, David Arquette and Courteney Cox, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, along with numerous others.
Malibu Castle was owned by socialite Lilly Lawrence and housed a priceless memorabilia collection including some rare Elvis Presley items. The home was in the process of being sold and was in escrow. The asking price was $17 million.
