Chris Pine
Los Angeles native Chris Pine has been chosen to play a young Captain Kirk in the new Star Trek movie, which chronicles the early days of the Enterprise crew.
27-year-old Chris Pine was born in Los Angeles on August 26, 1980 to Hollywood actor Robert Pine and film seamstress Gwynne Gilford.
Chris attended the University of California at Berkeley and landed his first acting role in 2003 in an episode of “ER,” and later the same year he had small parts on “CSI Miami” and “The Guardian.”
Pine started gaining attention when he starred as Lindsay Lohan’s love interest in “Just My Luck” and as a neo-Nazi assassin in “Smokin’ Aces.”
Pine chose Star Trek over another film he was offered called White Jazz, starring opposite George Clooney.
Filming begins in November and is scheduled for a Christmas Day, 2008 release.
