Madonna has just announced a lucrative deal she has made with Live Nation, allowing the company to have a stake in her albums, tours, merchandising, films, and other music related projects. The deal is worth a reported $120 million over the next 10 years.
The announcement comes on the heels of weeks of speculation that she would be leaving Warner Music Group Corporation, mostly because they would not match the astounding deal she made with Live Nation. She felt that the music business has changed in recent years and liked what Live Nation had to offer:
“The paradigm in the music business has shifted and as an artist and a business woman, I have to move with that shift,” Madonna said. “For the first time in my career, the way that my music can reach my fans is unlimited. I’ve never wanted to think in a limited way and with this new partnership, the possibilities are endless.”
She’s not done with Warner Brothers Records just yet, she still has yet to record a studio album and greatest hits album for them.
