Milla Jovovich opens up about the beauty secrets and style tips that she swears by. The ‘Resident Evil’ star also spoke at length with W Magazine about how she has arrived at her own unique approach to fashion.
The 40-year-old actress was a hit at Paris Fashion Week as one of many celebrities with front-row seats. Long before her days of portraying Alice in the ‘Resident Evil’ franchise — the sixth and final movie of the series, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, is due out next January — she first found success as a model in the late 1990s and early 2000s. But, as W Magazine points out, back in those days, she walked the catwalk for the likes of Versace and Prada.
She spoke with the magazine about her personal fashion style and said, ““I’ve been missing wearing hippie clothes, but I feel like my hair right now is not like a hippie-friendly cut, so unfortunately I haven’t been rocking any of my Free People clothes because I don’t have the hair for it.”
Continuing, she went on to say, “But I like myself with short hair and boys suits, baggy jeans and button-up shirts, so that’s where I’ve been for the last year.”
Jovovich spoke of her passion for versatility and juxtaposing styles and said, “I like to mix a bit of conservative, rock-and-roll feeling. That’s always something I’ve gone back to, over the years. I’m about to have another birthday in December, I’m going to be 41, so I’ve been sort of feeling a certain style lately, so that’s kind of been my thing.”
And that begs the topic of anti-aging beauty secrets of course and she obliges. When asked about how she copes with constant air travel, and maintaining her routine, she said, “I always like to be really moisturized. I have this amazing mask, it’s almost like the Dauphin eye mask. It’s jelly that you put around your eyes and it’s really moisturizing.”
She also reveals her secret for avoiding indulging too much while flying and said, “I get two big bottles of water and drink a lot of water on the flight, as well, because I know I cant resist eating the food on airplanes.” Confessing the temptation she said, “There’s just something about the compartmentalized aspect of the little portions. I cant stop myself.”
Milla Jovovich also spoke about her approach to makeup, saying, “I like to be pretty like chill with hair and makeup as well, for the most part. I feel like I look the best when I look like myself. I don’t like to do too much makeup, especially in Europe.” Elaborating, she added, “I think the less makeup you wear the better, just because I’ve always grown up with a European sense of style and the European girls just don’t do the makeup thing.”
