She is the cover star for People magazine’s special Wellness issue. She tells the magazine, “It’s so important for me to stress that being healthy is not about being a gym rat. It’s not about being 90 lbs..” She went on to say, “This is really how I live every single day.”
The longtime vegan went on to reveal that her daily diet consists entirely of plant-based foods, and that she begins every day with a green smoothie. Even her favorite restaurants in L.A. all have a plant-based cuisine, and helping her to stay ensconced in a healthy regime.

It took her a few years to find what works best, and she notes that being a native New Yorker — who was used to walking regularly — and suddenly relocating to L.A. when she was cast in ‘Glee’ was an adjustment. She says that during those years, “you can see that my weight fluctuates a lot because I was really figuring out how to make things work here.”
Those years meant “more time in my trailer, more time in my car and less time walking around.” And she says she reached a turning point, realizing ” how important it was for me, personally, to include activities and movement in my daily life.”
Nowadays, she says, “I’ve never loved my body more than I do right now.” She adds, “And I’m so grateful that I feel that way.”
