Ariana Grande opens up about her vegan diet and her fitness and workout tips. The former child star turned pop music star and her famed celebrity trainer are revealing some of the secrets of her success.
The 22-year-old rose to fame as a Nickelodeon star, with the sitcom ‘Sam & Cat’ and has made a smooth and successful transition to becoming a pop music superstar, in large part for her powerhouse voice and amazing vocal range and, let’s face it, in this day and age, being a young, attractive woman who can do justice to skimpy costumes counts for popularity, too.
Now she’s had a bit of a snag in her career, albeit a minor one, with the donut-gate scandal. But when one considers the child stars who wind up in rehab, arrested for DUI and other crimes, she’s emerged and become an adult comparatively unscathed.
On the promo trail for her new 1960s-inspired fashion line with the British retailer Lipsy, she opens up on an upbeat topic that’s always sure to draw notice. Weight loss. After all, with one alluring photo after another of Grande modeling her Audrey Hepburnesque dresses.
She tells The UK Daily Mail, “I have been a vegan for the last few years and it has been a great experience for me.”
This puts her in an ever-growing category of celebrities who have gone vegan — or mostly vegan — and who have not only found improved health, by their own reports, but also lasting weight loss. The list of those who tout the benefits of a plant-based diet is ever-growing, including the likes of Beyonce, Carrie Underwood, Ellie Goulding, Lea Michele Penn Jillette, and Wendy Williams just to name a few.
She goes on to elaborate, and adds, “I try and live a healthy lifestyle; eating right, exercise and sleep are all so important. I try and stay really active all the time. I like to hike when I can and being on stage is a great workout.”
And speaking of the stage, fans will be seeing much more of her as she is set to release a new album, ‘Dangerous Woman,’ soon. She’ll also make her debut as a SNL host, and will do double-duty as musical guest.
She credited those around her for her success, saying, “I have a great team around me to help me and surrounding myself with family and friends really helps too.”
As for clothing line, she told the publication, “‘It is full of super cute dresses as well as more edgy separates and wardrobe must-haves. I really hope my fans will love it.”
Those looking to dig a bit deeper into Ariana Grande’s workout routine, will find that, as is so often the case, her trainer, celebrity fitness guru Harley Pasternak, has offered a a glimpse in a recent interview in which he outlined three of his famous client’s on-the-road exercises, along with recommending the standard “10,000 steps a day” and a few other tidbits.
